I bought a new lens last summer, but I was too chicken to try it out until now. I decided to break open the box today even though I told myself when I bought it that I wouldn't use it until I understood the manual settings on my camera. Well, between the new job and the new house and running after two little ones, there just hasn't been a lot of time lately. I took these photos using the "Portrait" setting on my camera and my new 50 mm lens.
